Tracking Time and Expenses

When creating a new project or editing an existing one, click Enable time and expense tracking and set the hourly rates. You can also enable this by default for all projects:

Enabling Time and Expenses

  1. Open System Settings.
  2. Click Edit Time and Expense Settings.
  3. Set Track Time and Expenses to ON.
  4. Set Time Estimates to ON to be able to set completion estimates on tasks.
  5. Add Hourly Rates and Expense Categories.
  6. Click Save Changes.
  7. After saving the defaults, you’ll still be able to set different hourly rates by editing a specific project or client company:

Logging Time

  1. You can log time by opening the Time tab in a project:
  2. Click +New Time Record.
  3. Enter the time (eg. 1:40).
  4. Enter a description (optional).
  5. Choose a Job Type.
  6. Set a Date.
  7. Select Billable if you plan to include this entry in an invoice.
  8. Click Add Time Record.
  9. Or you can add an expense by opening the Expenses tab:
  10. Click on +New Expense.
  11. Enter the amount (eg. 100).
  12. Enter a description (optional).
  13. Choose a Category.
  14. Set a Date.
  15. Select Billable if you plan to include this entry in an invoice.
  16. Click Add Expense.
  17. To add time or expenses to a specific task, simply open it and click +Add Time or Add Expense.
